Selim Birsel
About
Selim Birsel (1963, Brussels) completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees at
École des Beaux-Arts in Grenoble and Institut des Hautes Etudes en Arts Plastiques
in Paris. He has opened solo exhibitions in Istanbul, Ankara, Gdansk, and Chios and
participated in a number of mixed exhibitions in Turkey and Europe. He has
published three books: Ziyaret, Arka Bahçe, and İşler Üzerinden ve Yanlarında. He’s
been working as an academic at Sabancı University since 1999. He lives in Istanbul
and Chios.
