Onur Mansız focuses on the “body” as a fixed and stable region of the subject, the place where subjectivity is represented and the act of self-creation takes place. The images that he reflects on the body and that locates the body in an indefinite area between nudity and clothing become a secondary texture and establish a new layer and reading space over the identity that the artist is trying to create. Bodies positioned on a dark background are isolated from the concept of space, allowing a direct relationship to be established with the existential problems they contain. Mansız is involved in the relationship he establishes with the figures he uses in his hyperrealist oil painting works, as a body that produces and intervenes, with his own handwork.
