Elif Tutka
About
Elif Tutka was born in Istanbul in 1984. She combines optical fictions with elements that exist in nature and reflects the relationship of human beings with nature to her works with a realistic and concrete point of view. The artist interprets the concepts of existence and extinction through the long-term relationship between man and nature. Art education started at Cağaloğlu Anatolian fashion design high school.
Tutka graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Painting Department in 2010, and worked as an artist assistant in Ekrem Yalçındağ Workshop until 2015. The artist, who uses acrylic and oil painting techniques on canvas, has previously won acclaim with his works in group exhibitions.
In addition to the artist's first solo exhibition 'Intervention' at Sevil Dolmacı Art Consultancy, she took part in many group exhibitions, in collaboration with 9 famous actors ( Deniz, Demet Özdemir, Seda Güven, Öznur Serçeler, Açelya Topaloğlu, Zeynep Çamcı, Ceyda Ateş, Ceyda Kasabalı and Melissa Yıldırımer) realized an installation for tegv. In 2018, the artist brought together different disciplines and exhibited his works together with the theater play “simurg şem-ü propeller”. The works of the artist have been included in many distinguished collections, both domestic and foreign. He continues his works in his workshop in Istanbul.
