Alp İşmen

Alp İşmen (b. 1962) graduated from the Tatbiki Fine Arts High School in 1980 and graduated from Marmara University in 1984. In the same year, one of his etchings was deemed worthy to be shown at the 5th Istanbul exhibition of Contemporary Artists. Although he studied printmaking, he continued his life working in the field of graphic design. In 2003, he took part as a guest artist in the group exhibition Bu Sergi Aileeye Mahsustur at Karşı Sanat. İşmen's works were exhibited at the Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair in 2017 and at the Kâğıt exhibition held at Pilevneli Project in 2019. The artist, whose works are included in many collections, participated in Daire Sanat's Open Workshop Programme in 2019. Alp İşmen's works were extensively featured in the duo exhibition titled ‘Extraordinary Equivalences, Subtle Similarities’ (Mixer, 2021). The exhibition ‘Aşk imiş...’ (Mixer, 2023), named after a couplet by Fuzuli, is the artist's first solo exhibition.
