About
Gurur Birsin (Tekirdağ, 1992) In his works, Gurur Birsin interprets the situation of landscape painting between tradition and the contemporary with a balance-seeking approach, focusing on the emergence of the emotions hidden in the deepest depths of the human soul through the undefined spaces that form the focal point of his paintings. The motifs of ruins, abandoned buildings and ancient cities, which we often encounter in the works of the artist, who has a detailed working practice, can be read as romantic indicators that directly refer to the common feelings of depression, anxiety and despair that our age has created on generations, rather than being a depiction of a place. In these works, which evoke a deep sense of solitude, silence and contemplation, the objective reality of nature is often reinterpreted in a melancholic style to remind us of the transience of life and death.
