“Haven’t you gone to bed yet? What are you drinking, let me see, oh, mint liqueur, I love it.”

With her innate acting talent and passion, she broke the star molds of Yeşilçam, serving as a bridge between traditional and modern theater, one of Türkiye’s most important comedians, the people’s ‘Hafize Ana,’ the children’s ‘Storyteller Aunt,’ and ‘Adoş’ of her artist friends…

Adile Naşit was an artist who, despite not fitting Yeşilçam’s star standards, filled her career with countless films, plays, and musicals, always remained true to herself, grew into a beloved figure in the eyes of the public through her talent, cheerful demeanor, and love for humanity, and was humble enough to describe herself as ‘an ugly and insecure person.’ Although she was often cast as the ‘chubby mother’ in Yeşilçam Cinema due to financial concerns, if given the chance, we might have seen her showcase her limitless talent in a variety of roles. Even though she mostly played supporting roles, she managed to become the lead in the audience’s eyes, a tireless fighter who broke down societal stereotypes by following her own path. As Ülkü Erakalın said, she was “the last representative of traditional theater and the last holder of the kavuk (the traditional headgear passed down to masters in Turkish theater)” in Türkiye.
